Gila County Community College, Gila Pueblo Campus
Gila County Community College (GCC) offers various methods of instruction to fit individual students’ lifestyles, including traditional classrooms, interactive television, online classes, and classes broadcast over a dedicated cable television channel. GCC strives to offer classes that meet the needs of our community. Along with credit courses, GCC offers a variety of non-credit courses throughout the semester. GCC includes university-transfer programs, classes that lead directly to employment, as well as personal interest classes. GCC has a partnership with Gila Literacy to offer free GED and adult education classes at the Gila Pueblo Campus. The Gila Pueblo Campus is located at 8274 Six Shooter Canyon in Globe. Holy Angels School
For nearly 50 years at the top of the Cedar Street hill, the Holy Angels School community has carried on a tradition of academic excellence, social, moral and spiritual development, and whole-family involvement. The school welcomes children of all religious traditions, and the community promotes love and respect for everyone, practicing the belief that each of us is uniquely endowed with special abilities, talents and challenges. Globe School District
Educators in the Globe Unified School District believe that children should receive a well-rounded, basic education. The world is ever-changing, therefore, education is subject to modification according to youth needs. Children must be able to meet the challenges of the society in which they live, and Globe schools approach this challenge by assuring that each child is offered a sound program in the basic skills regardless of race, religion or socioeconomic status. Miami School District
The district presently offers an average classroom ratio of 14.5 students per teacher. The average is purposely lower for grades K-3, and slightly higher for grades 7-12. All teachers and paraprofessionals meet the requirements mandated by No Child Left Behind. The Miami Schools educate students to become productive, achieving citizens of their communities. Liberty High School
Liberty High School, 482 Hagen Road, has been serving Globe-Miami and San Carlos for nine years. Liberty is a charter high school with programs to meet the needs of students who desire a smaller environment, and for those who have fallen behind at larger schools. Students are taught skills to meet the Arizona State Standards. The school is accredited by the North Central Association, and all staff are certified by the State of Arizona. Liberty has a certified adult education program which welcomes adults desiring a high school diploma.
San Carlos Unified School District
The “Home of the Braves,” San Carlos Unified School District (SCUSD) is located on the San Carlos Apache Reservation with a student population of approximately 1,400, many of whom reside on the reservation. The district consists of five school sites – Rice Primary School, San Carlos Intermediate, San Carlos Junior High School, San Carlos Alternative School, and San Carlos High School. Students are accommodated from pre-school through 12th grade.
The Governing Board, administration, faculty and staff of SCUSD are committed to providing the best possible education for each student. Preparing students academically for the future in a modern learning environment today can provide SCUSD students the means for a successful transition into the workforce of tomorrow. Take a minute to go off Highway 70 in Peridot and see the huge bronze statue welcoming visitors to the high school.
Destiny Charter School
Providing services to students in grades K-8, Destiny Charter School offers small classes and individual assistance to students who can benefit from such a program. Located at 22 Prickly Pear Drive in Globe, Destiny has been holding classes in the Globe-Miami area since 1997.
