jii
Celebrating Native American culture.
What is Apache Jii Festival? Let's start with the name. "Jii" means "day" in Apache, and it's pronounced exactly like the letter "G". Just East of Globe lies the beautiful land of the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation. Apache Jii was started as a way to honor our neighbors as we share and celebrate their culture and history. The event has since expanded to include other tribes, as well. To keep the experience authentic, all of our vendors, performers and speakers must belong to a Native American tribe.
As the Chamber and local Visitor's Center, one of the top areas of interest expressed by our tourists is Native American history and culture in the area. This event equally aims to reach visitors and locals alike, to teach, share and celebrate our tribal brothers and sisters.
