About the Event
Join us in historic downtown Globe on Saturday, March 6th for a fun filled day of family activities, live music, amazing cuisine, diverse and exciting shopping opportunities, art, and more! Take a look at what's happening below -
- Poppy Talk by professional photographer Lisa Langell. She will teach you tips and techniques to capture GREAT wildflowers with whatever camera you use. Attend in person at the Globe-Miami Chamber of Commerce Conference Room or virtually: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_eCjvT-KwTD-9QzTIuzBTtA
- Historic Hike and Cemetery Tour: 12:00 pm led by Master Gardener Bob Zache. This MODERATE hike with steep elevation is about 3 miles roundtrip. Bring a mask, water, sunscreen, and wear comfortable walking shoes. $5 a person, we accept cash and Venmo. Meet at the Train Depot at 230 S. Broad Street, Globe, AZ 85501. All participants must provide their own transportation to the Train Depot.
- Graffiti Art Contest behind Bouquets on Broad Street from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm, with judging from 1:00 pm - 1:30 pm.
Entertainment: - Power Elite Dance Academy will be performing 30 minute shows at 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, and 2:00 pm on Oak Street (alongside the Center for the Arts). There will be 12 viewing pods on either side of the stage to help mitigate crowd formation and maintain social distancing. Viewing pods are just circles placed on the ground to view the show from with your family, once they are filled we will not be able to allow more viewers for that show. - Mighty Bison will be playing outside the Old Globe Cafe (located on the corner of Broad and Bailey) from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm and again from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. They are an awesome local 3 piece band covering country, southern rock and blues. - DJ Gilbert Jacinto of Genuine Events will be spinning tracks all day long!
Vendor booths along Broad Street and side street Mesquite. From art work to homemade salsa and everything in between, check out all our vendors by walking all of Broad Street. Outside the Historic Train Depot will be Kids Poppy Talks & Poppy Planting Educational booths hosted by: - Globe High School-FFA and Agriculture Department - Cobre Valley Watershed Partnership - Globe Library - U.S. Forest Service: Wilderness Chats - Globe High: "Be Kind" Initiative - Local Artist Nate Rector: Caricature Drawings - Poppy Packs Take and Make: packs for kids - E-Volve Adventure Rentals will be setup on the corner of Broad Street and Sycamore Street where you can rent e-bikes
Food trucks: - Cowboy Kettle Corn will be on Oak Street (near the Old Jail and Center for the Arts) serving up their famous, delicious kettle corn - Chez & Dez's Snack Shack will be on Mesquite Street selling smoked brisket and pork, fresh carne asada, green and red chili, and more! - Dre's Dawg House will be on Bailey Street (near the Chamber booth) serving amazing street tacos, Birria and G tacos, and we can't forget their famous Sonoran Hot Dog and more! - Salinas Smoke Street will be on Hackney Street (behind Bouquets on Broad St.) serving wood Smoked BBQ with a Tex-Mex inspired menu. Yum!
CDC guidelines will be followed. A facemask covering your nose and mouth will be required (with the exception of those 2 years and younger). Please distance yourself from others at least 6 feet.
