Centennial Band Swing Dance Party Fundraiser Feb. 10 at Arts Center

                 Samba, Latin, big band, blues and more will be on the night’s set list; lace-up your dancing shoes and invite friends to the annual Centennial Swing Dance Party. The Feb. 10 event’s a fundraiser, and $25 tickets include hors d’Oeuvres and a Valentines weekend Saturday night of music and merriment. There’s a no-host bar; proceeds of the event help support the Globe Miami Centennial Band, a non-profit with all volunteer musicians.                      Buy tickets in advance at the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts,

The spacious theater on the third floor of the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts is transformed into a jazz club with candlelit tables and hors d’oeuvres. The Copper Community Players will provide a no host bar. The entire third floor is open so that guests can dance, nibble on treats and visit with friends. Doors open at 6:30, with music from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. 

           Centennial Swing currently has 15 players; music for the night will range from samba, blues, Latin and Big Band selections. Seating is limited; reserve your tickets soon. Globe Miami Centennial Band is a local non-profit community band that provides an opportunity for young and old to rehearse and perform challenging musical literature. The bands rehearse on Thursday nights at Miami High School. Newcomers and visitors are always welcome.
