San Carlos Apache Tribe Veterans Weekend Powwow Nov. 11 - 12

San Carlos High School's football field is the host location for this year's annual powwow; Saturday's schedule has Gourd dancing at Noon and also 6:00 p.m., with grand entries at 1:00 and 7:00 p.m.

Sunday gourd dance is at noon with grand entry at 1:00 p.m. Head Gourd Dancer is local: Harold Kenton, of San Carlos! Notable guests from out-of-state include Head Man Bennie James from Dulce, NM and Head Woman Hailey Suazo from Albuquerque. Host Northern Drum is the Little Bear Singers from Red Lake MN, and Host Southern Drum is Buc Wild rom Chinle AZ.
